Here you can analyze the common biological theme of a set of one or more miRs, by exploring the functions, properties, and mechanism of action of their protein-coding targets. This is especially important for interpreting the biological meaning of miR expression profiles, when trying to correlate a phenotype with a genome-wide miR profile.
By submitting a list of coexpressed miRs, for example all the up-regulated or all down-regulated miRs in an experiment, you can identify enriched biological functions, processes, cellular compartments, disease associations, bio-pathways, protein-protein interactions, functional domains, and homologies among all targeted protein-coding genes. Clicking the Infer button will redirect you to the DAVID website, where the biological theme of the targets is calculated by integrating all major public bioinformatics resources.
